8 Habits to Protect Your Yang Energy

8 Habits to Protect Your Yang Energy

After the beginning of winter (November 7), the yang energy should be "sealed". Adhere to these 8 habits:

1. Dress to keep warm and protect the yang energy
After the beginning of winter, the external cold increases, and the human body needs to consume some yang energy to resist the external cold. Dressing to avoid the cold can reduce the consumption of yang energy and protect the yang energy in the body.

2. Go to bed early and get up late to accumulate yang energy
After the beginning of winter, the days are short and the nights are long. The yin and yang conversion of the human body should also conform to the changes of heaven and earth. Night is the time when yang energy is hidden. Going to bed early and getting up late is conducive to the accumulation of yang energy. Generally, you can go to bed half an hour earlier in winter than in autumn. If you can't fall asleep early, you can try to help sleep through your eyes, such as closing your eyes and emptying your brain.

3. Exercise moderately to avoid consuming yang
It is better to be quiet in winter than to move. Vigorous exercise will leak yang energy. Choose mild sports, such as kidney courses, soothing qigong, patting, rubbing the abdomen, etc., and sweat slightly. Avoid frequent bathing, cupping, scraping, sauna, sweat steaming and other activities that cause excessive leakage of yang energy.

4. Dietary conditioning, warming and replenishing Yang Qi
In winter, the human body needs more calories to resist the cold, and dietary conditioning should be mainly warming and replenishing. Eat warm and replenishing foods in moderation and avoid eating too much cold foods to avoid damaging Yang Qi.

5. Emotional restraint, protect Yang Qi
Excessive emotional activities will disturb the latent Yang Qi in the body and cause Yang Qi to dissipate. Keep mental tranquility and inner peace, and avoid excessive excitement, excitement, or emotional fluctuations such as sadness and anxiety.

6. Soak your feet to drive away the cold
Insisting on soaking your feet in warm water can help prevent cold and protect Yang Qi.

7. Sunbathing, consolidating Yang Qi
Sunbathing more can use the natural Yang Qi to dispel the cold, dredge the meridians and collaterals, and help accumulate Yang Qi in the body.

8. Avoid cold and protect the five internal organs
Among many parts of the body, the abdomen, knees, and feet should be protected the most. The abdomen is the spleen and stomach; the knee joints have less blood supply and are sensitive to cold; the feet are farthest from the heart and have poor ability to keep warm. Once they get cold, their internal organs will be directly affected.

Thank you for your insight. I have found that keeping my head warm (wearing something that also covers my ears) helps the rest of my body stay warm.

Très intéressant mais je dois me pencher encore sur ces bons conseils et voir le sens de certains mots en anglais. En effet je ne suis pas bilingue…
