The lungs belong to the metal among the five elements and are in charge of the movement of Qi (energy) throughout the body. Specifically, it has the following functions and features:

  • Controls breathing, absorbs clean air, discharges dirty air, and provides oxygen to the body.

  • Lead and promote the circulation of blood. The heart powers the flow of blood, and the lungs power the heart.

  • Responsible for transporting nutrients absorbed by the spleen to the skin, tissues, organs and cells of the body.

  • Responsible for transporting clean water to every tissue and organ, and also transporting metabolized waste water to the pores and bladder, and then excreted from the body.
  • The outermost protective umbrella of the human body, responsible for resisting wind, cold, dampness, bacteria and viruses in nature. At the same time, it is also very delicate and can be easily harmed by them.

  • Lungs like to be clean. The biggest fear is too dry air.

Lung in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory:

The lung is a system.

  • The lungs and large intestine are brothers and they influence each other. Insufficient lung function may lead to constipation, and difficulty in defecation may lead to asthma and excessive phlegm.
  • Skin and hair can reflect lung function. Pale skin, loss of hair, and abnormal pore switching indicate weak lung function.
  • The nose is the window to the lungs. A dry nose indicates dryness and lack of moisture in the lungs. Yellow nasal discharge indicates heat in the lungs. Clear nasal discharge indicates coldness in the lungs.
  • Being sad for a long time can damage lung function.
  • If you often wake up at 3-5 o'clock, it means that the lung function is insufficient or the lung meridians are blocked.

How to maintain lung system?

The lungs are located in the chest and are protected by the ribs. We cannot reach them, but according to the theory of TCM, we can exercise in many ways to help the lungs stay healthy.

  • Expand the volume of the chest cavity and increase the activity space of the lungs, which can enhance lung capacity and improve lung function.

  • Dredging the lung meridians is very beneficial to lung health. The lung meridian starts from the Yunmen point under the clavicle, passes through the upper edge of the inner arm and reaches the thumb.

  • Through breathing exercises, especially breath-holding exercises, the function of the lungs in absorbing oxygen can be greatly enhanced.

  • Laughter can enhance the strength and elasticity of the muscles and ligaments around the lungs.

  • The kidneys are responsible for inhalation, and the lungs are responsible for exhalation. Therefore, increasing the energy of the kidneys can help inhale deeper.

  • Exercise the elasticity and strength of the diaphragm muscle to help reduce pressure on the lungs.

  • Musically, “Shang” tone of Chinese Guqin is good for the lungs; So we chose it as the BGM for the course.

  • The pungent taste opens up circulation in the lungs and helps them clean up.

  • In autumn, the lungs are easily injured and need to be protected.

          I am thrilled with this course! After just a few sessions, my psychosomatic chest pain, which had plagued me for over 40 years, disappeared. I never thought I would be free of it. And it happened with such simple exercises, after no conventional doctor or specialist could help me. My shortness of breath has also improved significantly. Thank you so much for this! The background music of the course is also sophisticated and charming, the tone of the guqin shang is soul-lifting and healing, as the Master mentions. I have no breathing or lung problems.           Ottimo e utile corso ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

          Anche stavolta il Maestro Zidong non si è smentito. Un ottimo corso per la funzionalità polmonare. Già dai primi giorni si noterà come gli esercizi influenzino positivamente i polmoni ,infatti sarà facile notare come il muco e il catarro vengano espulsi facilmente dopo gli esercizi e che anche la capacità polmonare sarà migliorata. La funzione polmonare è molto importante per la formazione del QI e del sangue e questo corso avrà sicuramente effetti positivi anche a lungo termine e non solo quando i polmoni hanno bisogno di un po' più di sostegno. In relazione ai 5 elementi della MTC i polmoni appartengono all'autunno e quindi già in estate sarebbe opportuno esercitarsi con questo corso in modo da arrivare nella stagione autunnale preparati. Essendo i polmoni responsabili dei pori della pelle mi sono posta l'obiettivo di praticare per un anno per vedere l'effetto che avrà sulla mia pelle. Sono fiduciosa. Praticare ogni giorno il Qigong ei corsi del Maestro ha migliorato la qualità della mia vita. Non ho nessun dubbio nel consigliarvi i corsi del Maestro Zidong.

          J'ai acheté plusieurs routines et je les aime toutes, mais celles qui m'ont vraiment le plus aidée sont celles pour les poumons et le foie. J'ai 60 ans et au fur et à mesure, je me suis rendue compte que j'étais toute verrouillée de partout. Il y a une nette amélioration au niveau respiratoire mais aussi au niveau du coeur qui avait des arythmies, j'étais toujours oppressée, tendue, et tous ces exercices m'aident vraiment à faire fonctionner à nouveau la machine. Les vidéos sont bien faites, les détails y sont présentés, j'aime beaucoup le sérieux du maître qui présente ces techniques, vraiment je recommande. A ceux qui croient que tout va bien, et bien comme moi, on est parfois surpris de constater que tout tient avec un fil quand même, et qu'en fait, tout était rouillé, l'énergie ne circulait plus correctement. Merci beaucoup, je continue mes routines et vous suit sur facebook, et j'adore, pas un seul jour où je ne me délecte de vos vidéos fort utiles. Je n'imaginais pas que la médecine chinoise soit aussi efficace, vraiment... Pendant que j'y suis, si le maître me lit, a-t-il une astuce pour libérer les tendons du sacrum ? merci ;)

          Aufatmen und Heilen mit unserem lieben Meister Zidong

          Ich staune immer wieder über die hohe Wirksamkeit der Kurse, die Meister Zidong mit großer Fürsorglichkeit, basierend auf dem Wissen der Traditionellen Chinesischen Medizin, für uns bereitstellt.
          Viele der beschriebenen Symptome erkannte ich bei mir.
          Obwohl ich die 56-minütigen Ganzkörperübungen und andere Übungen von Meister Zidongs YouTube Kanal täglich mache, bekomme ich nach Ausführung der Lungenroutine, die ich oft gleich zusammen mit der Leber- und Nierenroutine übe, immer noch Muskelkater im Schulterbereich, an den Oberarmen und im oberen Bauchbereich. Das zeigt mir, wo die Schwachstellen in meinem Körper sind. Aufgefallen ist mir, dass der Haarausfall nachgelassen hat und ich nachts besser durchschlafen kann. Sehr interessant ist, dass an den Tagen dieser Routinearbeit abends eine starke Traurigkeit aufkam. Es löste sich so viel Schweres, Trauer, Kummer aus meinem Körper und konnte mit den Tränen gehen.
          Ein Qigong Lehrer sagte einmal, dass Weinen eine Qigong Übung sei. Ich hielt es für einen Scherz. Aber nun erlebe ich, dass sich selbst jahrelange, festgesetzte Traurigkeit und Kummer auflösen können und ich mich immer leichter fühle.
          Meister Zidong zeigt uns in der Lungenroutine, dass auch Lachen eine wirksame Qigong Übung ist und tatsächlich muss ich immer lachen, wenn ich diese mache.
          Ich danke Meister Zidong aus tiefstem Herzen, dass er dieses Wissen zu uns fließen lässt und wir heiler und gesünder werden können. 🙏❤️
